Here is a really great recipe for turkey burgers. The addition of fresh salsa, avocado, and my mom's easy lime mayo spread make this recipe one you will want to make again and again. The recipe is from the July/August 2006 issue of Everyday Food magazine. It is incredibly easy to make and you are likely to have many of the ingredients in your pantry (all I needed from the store was a jalapeno and hamburger buns!).
Mix ingredients in a medium sized bowl, form into patties and grill! I used my All-Clad grill pan instead of an outdoor grill and they turned out great.
My mom makes similar burgers using pork and makes a spread of mayonnaise mixed with a bit of lime juice on the buns. Fresh lime juice is great but I also keep a jar of lime juice in the fridge in case I don't have fresh limes on hand. Using a fork or whisk beat several tablespoons of mayo with a teaspoon or two of lime juice. Taste as you add the juice until you acheive your desired flavor (don't go too wild with the lime juice!)
Spread on buns, top with turkey patty, fresh tomato salsa and avocado.
Bon appetit!

Oh my that looks good. Tom promised to BBQ tomorrow since we have finally made 70s! Maybe we'll do a southwestern turkey burger!
